A prayer in support of #BlackLivesMatter, kindly created by The Diocese of Manchester, is now available to watch and read on our website. The readers on the prayer video include Bishop David Walker, Archdeacon Karen Lund, Canon Marcia Wall and Rev Aaron Jackman.

This can be watched using the Facebook video (see right), and can be read in the text below:

Eternal God,
You create us in so many wonderful shapes and colours.
We thank you that you love all your children with an equal warmth;
And that your desire is to break down the boundaries and limits
Of the ethnic prejudice and injustice we erect.
Help us to resist the demons of racism,
And unmask the mindsets of hate.
Banish evil, we pray, in confusion,
As we proclaim, with sisters and brothers of all nations,
That Black Lives Matter, here and everywhere.
